Campaign Details

Listed below are the details of what Camp Mauritius hopes to build on in the future.

Mauritius Advisory Board:

Camp Mauritius will develop within its walls an advisory board for the campers BY the campers. This advisory board will ensure that the summer directors including the Director of Camps and Respite Services are honoring the wishes of the campers. This board will also have the authority to review camp policies, finances, and any other requested items needed to ensure that the camp is running as smoothly as possible.

Mauritius Wellhouse: (Medical Center)

Under the direction and leadership of the Director of Health Services, the Mauritius Wellhouse Medical Center will be accessible to campers, summer staff, and their families. The entire medical team will consist of on-call physicians, nurses, and medical assistants who are in college. The Mauritius Wellhouse Medical Center will play a vital role in caring for the campers’ wide range of medical issues that may arise during camp sessions.

Mauritius Mess Hall:

The Mauritius Mess Hall will be the drop-off point for both campers and their families as well as summer staff. The mess hall will have classrooms for campers who have sensory and noise issues. It will also house arts and crafts, a game/lounge room with other activities as well as bathrooms that are accessible and falls under the ADA guidelines and laws.

Acquisition of Lands:

We know that building our new camp is going to require the acquisition or purchase of land which we currently do not have. But with your help, we can together make this reality for thousands of campers across the State of Arkansas.

Camp Office:

The Mauritius Office Building will be a three-story building with an elevator. This building will house for the duration of the camp sessions, the Director’s Office, the Camp Register’s Office, a small medical office on standby, and a lodging area for the Director and his/her family.

This building will be built from the ground up.
